In all of motorsport, there's perhaps no better wild mix of drifting European sports cars - artful Japanese motorsport and highly-strung European classics just don't mix! ...or do they?! We've mixed and mashed the classic autosport design of the original E30 M3 with high-revving, sideways-going drift action!

This Sport 3 Drift features the ultra-cool BMW M3 complete with extra-wide wheel arches, front air dam and a big street-style rear wing! The car is also fitted with replica Work Emotion XC8 wheels wrapped with officially licensed Toyo Proxxes tires for awesome scale realism, so it's ready to hit the drift scene right out of the box!

Under the hood, this 1/10th scale officially licensed replica is equipped with the latest HPI Racing Touring Car chassis, the Sport 3 Drift! With full-time 4WD and a fully sealed shaft drivetrain, waterproof 2.4 GHz electronics and radio gear, fully independent double wishbone suspension and adjustable oil-filled shocks, it’s ready to drift whenever you are!

The officially licensed, realistic BMW M3 replica is emblazoned with the iconic Driftworks logo, letting the world know it's ready for high-speed, tire-burning fun!


The BMW E30 M3 is fitted with Work Emotion XC8 wheels, which provide a super-cool 'retro mod' look that is in between classic multi-spoke designs and a flowing organic style that looks bold and minimal at the same time - aggressive and functional, perfect for an updated 90s car look. Work wheels are extensively used by various motorsports teams in GT300, GT500, Formula 3, and the N1 endurance racing series. On the street, they are used on everything ranging from million-dollar McLaren F1 race cars to Spoon Sports Honda Civics.


Completing the drift package are official replicas of full-size Toyo Proxxes R1R high-spec performance tires, molded in a super-stiff, hard plastic that is perfect for scale drifting and really looks the part! These low-profile drift-specific tires are made for high-performance, realistic RC drift action! HPI drift tires are the ideal way to get drifting quickly and easily. The replica tread pattern looks fantastic, and only gets better with age as the tires wear down, just like the real thing! 

BMW E30 M3:
The ultimate retro sports car!

One of the most famous "homologation specials" ever produced, the original M3 was produced to satisfy the requirements for DTM and Group A touring car racing: 5000 copies were required to be sold within 12 months in order to allow the circuit racing version to race.

Debuting in 1985 at the illustrious Frankfurt Motor Show, the "M" version of the roadgoing E30 was produced primarily in coupe (2-door) body style, with a very limited number available as cabriolet convertibles. The body was extensively remade for the M3 version - most famously the extra-wide, boxy wheel arches front and rear, but with lightened and raised rear bodywork, refined windscreen and other improvements only a few pieces of the original body - doors, engine hood, and roof - remained unchanged from the original production car. With "only" 200 horsepower from its modified inline 4-cylinder engine, and uprated brakes to match, the 2-door coupe destined for executives was transformed into a circuit-smashing beast.

Today, the BMW M3 is still considered the most successful Group A and German Touring Car Championship (DTM) touring car ever unleased. In 1987, in only its second year of competition, Italian Roberto Ravaglia, driving for Schnitzer Racing, won the World Championship title in the BMW M3. There were also countless wins at the 24 Hours Nürburgring, the 24 Hours of Spa, Belgium, the DTM, and even as a rally car.

And by the early 2000s, multiple sports car publications had named the E30 M3 among the top sports cars of all time. These days, the selling price of original M3 cars can reach over $100,000 - but now, it's available as a fantastic Japan-inspired drift machine, ready for your command!

One-Piece Molded Chassis

The main chassis is formed from a single piece of reinforced plastic and features the drivetrain tunnel molded right down the middle, just like a real car. It's a step beyond any plastic tub chassis car available today.

Low Profile Layout Design

One of the ways we gave the Sport 3 Drift the best possible handling was to make sure all the components fit as low as possible in the chassis. This gives the car an amazingly low center of gravity for optimum cornering capabilities.


The Sport 3 Drift features a versatile electronic speed controller that can be used with modern lithium-polymer (LiPo) or nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Please note a LiPo adapter plug is not included, your model shop will be able to provide one.

Fits a Wide Variety of Batteries

The Sport 3 Drift chassis can fit lithium-polymer (LiPo) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) packs of various sizes, including the extra-long 7-cell NiMH packs. Whatever your power requirements, it can hold it all! A thick hook-and-loop strap holds the pack securely in place, and a simple battery block screws into place to allow you to adjust the weight distribution forward or backward for extra steering or acceleration. 


Like all HPI cars, the Sport 3 is easy to drive with the included steering wheel controller. 
The All-New 2.4Ghz FHSS TF-50 Transmitter features:

  • Drop down steering position for a natural control position
  • Foam covered wheel for extra comfort and grip
  • Swappable steering wheel design for left handers!
  • Rubber finger and thumb handle grips
  • Rubber bumpers on all corners for the highest protection.
  • Magnetic area on the base for body clips or screws while you work!
  • Digital on and off switch
  • Audible warnings if you leave the TF-50 switched on, and if the batteries are low on power!
  • Servo Reverse, EPA, Trims and Dual Rate switches.

The NEW RF-50 receiver features a waterproof silicone inner jacket for use in any weather and a built-in failsafe - Signal on the RF-50 for the FLUX cars and signal and battery life for the RF-50N on the Nitro!
